Celebrating 250 Years of Alexander von Humboldt!

Read the full list of community events!

Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859) was a well-known polymath in the natural sciences, who in turn became a major influence on the works of Frederick Law Olmsted. So much so that Olmsted named his most prized boulevard in Buffalo, NY after von Humboldt when creating America’s first ever park system.

The legacy of Alexander von Humboldt continues to this day through various community development initiatives, and is being honored through a series of events this year in and around Buffalo.
