The Team
The Restore Our Community Coalition (ROCC) Board
Restore Our Community Coalition (ROCC) is a 501(c) 3 organization supported by institutions and community organizations such as the Olmsted Parks Conservancy, the Buffalo Museum of Science, the Black Chamber of Commerce, Citizens’ Alliance, and the Hamlin Park Taxpayers’ Association. ROCC is dedicated to the revitalization of neighborhoods along Humboldt Parkway.
The visionary of this movement is Mr. Clarke Eaton, retired manager of the City of Buffalo Public Works division and owner of a construction management firm. Mrs. Stephanie Barber Geter is the Chair of ROCC; Karen Stanley Fleming is the Executive Director. The steering committee members are Mr. Richard C. Cummings, Richard A. Cummings, Cornelius Johnson, Mark Mortenson, Greg Robinson, Sydney Brown, Al Baxter, Dave Stieglitz, Bradley Bethel, Jr. and David Roach, Esq.
This diverse team plans and implements activities and educational outreach to the Buffalo community and it encourages government stakeholders to invest public dollars to restore Humboldt Parkway and heal the neighborhood that was devastated by construction of the Kensington Expressway/Route 33.
We also honor the memory of the late Lumon Ross, who as the President of the Black Chamber of Commerce of WNY was passionate about the initiative to restore Humboldt Parkway.
ROCC gratefully acknowledges the generous financial support of the Wendt Foundation, and the encouragement of Mr. Robert Kresse to advance this social advocacy campaign.
